Omega Chapter Officers & Duties
President: David Eastep
- Schedule, prepare agenda and preside over officer and general meetings
- Provide thank-you notes and gifts for guest speakers
- Introduction of programs
- Check Email daily
- Assess the need for committees
- Appoint committees if needed
- Submit monthly reports to Grand Chapter
- Communicate with recent alumni and update chapter on their accomplishments
- Send out E-Newsletter
- Be sure every officer is in the loop on all activities
- Be sure all Excel lists are up to date at all times
- Membership info
- Travel Lists
- Lead by example and fill in for other officer duties if necessary

- Coordinates with other officers to develop an overall calendar of events at the end of each semester for the upcoming semester
- Line up speakers and programs
- Order food for events
- Coordinate guest speaker arrival and hospitality on campus

- Coordinate and Speak to classes to promote GIS
- Collect and Organize data from potential members

- Memos to professors

- Follow and Like other GIS Chapters’ and MTSU Social Media

- Send new member applications to the Grand Chapter (after dues have been collected)

I am so grateful for Gamma Iota Sigma for all of the opportunity and experience I was given. Through Gamma, I got an early exposure to the insurance industry and learned how to network. Being exposed to industry professionals and learning how to interact with them before ever stepping foot into the “real world” really helped prepare me for my future career. Thanks to my involvement with Gamma, Dr. Wood recommended me for an internship that would turn into a full time job with the company that I am still employed with today, nearly nine years later!
