Omega Chapter Officers & Duties
President: Ella Virgin
- Schedule, prepare agenda and preside over officer and general meetings
- Provide thank-you notes and gifts for guest speakers
- Introduction of programs
- Check Email daily
- Assess the need for committees
- Appoint committees if needed
- Submit monthly reports to Grand Chapter
- Communicate with recent alumni and update chapter on their accomplishments
- Send out E-Newsletter
- Be sure every officer is in the loop on all activities
- Be sure all Excel lists are up to date at all times
- Membership info
- Travel Lists
- Lead by example and fill in for other officer duties if necessary
Vice President of Programs: David Eastep
- Coordinates with other officers to develop an overall calendar of events at the end of each semester for the following semester
- Line up speakers & programs
- Order food for events
- Coordinate guest speaker arrival and hospitality on campus
- Coordinate with career development center
Vice President of Student Engagement:
Christian Palma
- Community Service outreach
- GIS Week of Giving
- GIS Giving Tuesday
- Other Philanthropies/ Volunteer Events
- Act as liaison with other organizations and the office of student organizations for involvement college-wide or campus-wide events and activities
- Assist VP of Programs to coordinate social events
Vice President of Recruitment: Joshua Keifer
- Event Engagement
- Table at Campus Events including SOS fairs
- Coordinate and Speak to classes to promote GIS
- Collect and Organize data from potential members
- Promote all activities:
- Social Media
- Flyers in classrooms
- Flyers on the bulletin board
- Memos to professors
- MTSU Website
- Student Spotlights
- Follow and Like other GIS Chapters’ and MTSU Social Media
Vice President of Membership: Skylar Hallingstad
- Email new members the GIS application and collect the membership due
- Send new member applications to the Grand Chapter (after dues have been collected)
- Set up and maintain membership list serve for email account
- Maintain membership List
- Inform members of internship and job opportunities/information
- Keep Attendance at Meetings (both General and Officer)

- Collection of dues
- Maintains records of dues paying members
- Apply for funding through the school
- Find Sponsors for GIS meetings
- Reconciles receipts and records of dues paying members
- Keeps track of checking account balances
- Report GIS financial standing at meetings
- Coordinates reimbursement of expenses
